Dr. Mumtaz is a family physician and student of Islamic knowledge with a deep passion for healing the heart through faith and psychology. After more than a decade in medicine and a lifelong journey of spiritual seeking, she founded Sacred Heartwork — an Islamic mental wellness hub in Singapore.
Sacred Heartwork was created to provide Islamic therapy and faith-based counselling that combines clinical insight with Islamic psychology. Dr. Mumtaz believes Muslims deserve therapy that speaks their language of faith while addressing the challenges of trauma, anxiety, grief, and healing.
Her vision is for Sacred Heartwork to be at the forefront of Islamic psychology in Singapore and beyond — nurturing hearts, holding safe space for pain, and guiding others toward healing through the integration of modern psychology and timeless Islamic wisdom.

Ustazah Dr. Noraini is an Islamic mental health practitioner, counsellor, and educator in Singapore, dedicated to bridging traditional Islamic scholarship with modern therapeutic practices. She recently completed her PhD in Psychology at IIUM, where she developed an Islamic Psychology of Self module tailored for the Singaporean Muslim community. Her research integrates Islamic psychology, counselling, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to provide holistic healing.
With a strong foundation in traditional Islamic studies from Al-Azhar and professional counselling training from Monash and Swinburne University, she brings over 15 years of experience in trauma counselling, grief support, rehabilitation counselling, and Islamic psycho-spiritual care.
At Sacred Heartwork, Dr. Noraini serves as the Lead Muslim Counsellor, specialising in trauma-informed therapy and Islamic counselling in Singapore. She is committed to creating safe and nurturing spaces that honour both the psyche and the soul, helping individuals heal through faith-based therapy.
To bridge traditional Islamic wisdom with modern therapeutic care, offering faith-rooted support for emotional healing and psychological wellbeing.
We envision Sacred Heartwork as a pioneer in Islamic psychology in Singapore and beyond — a sanctuary for hearts and a movement for healing.
Our long-term dream is to establish a hybrid medical and psychological services clinic rooted in Islamic values — where physical health, mental wellbeing, and spiritual care come together in a holistic, faith-based model of healing.
Because we believe healing should honour the body, the mind, and the soul — all in service of Allah ﷻ.
Our Values
We meet people where they are — not where the world expects them to be.
Whether you come to us in the middle of grief, burnout, anxiety, or healing, you will be held gently. We believe every pain deserves to be witnessed with kindness. Every tear is sacred. Every story matters. Compassion is not just part of our practice — it is the practice.
We are guided by both revelation and reason.
Our approach is rooted in the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the best of evidence-based psychological care. We honour our trust (amānah) to those we serve — by showing up with humility, by seeking knowledge continuously, and by ensuring that what we offer is authentic, ethical, and aligned with Islamic principles.
We believe that tending to your inner world is an act of ‘ibadah.
Caring for your heart, unlearning harmful patterns, setting boundaries, and grieving what was lost — all of this can be sacred if done with the right intention. Healing isn’t selfish; it’s spiritual. And choosing to heal can be a form of gratitude to the One who gave you life.
